Abatino’s History

Elisabetta Pisani, along with Ralph, founded Abatino’s restaurant in 1985 in New York City. The restaurant has been a staple of the city’s Italian cuisine ever since.

Elisabetta was born and raised in Florence, Italy where she developed her passion for cooking and entertaining. After immigrating to the United States with her son Ralph she decided to open up shop in New York City’s Little Italy neighborhood.

Elisabetta and Ralph opened Abatino’s when they arrived from Italy and wanted to share their authentic recipes and flavors with New Yorkers. They started off small but eventually grew into one of the most popular Italian eateries in Manhattan.

The quality and freshness of their dishes made them an instant hit with locals and visitors alike. Elisabetta maintained the recipes passed down to her by her family while Ralph worked hard to perfect each dish he served at the restaurant.

Over time, Abatino’s expanded its menu to include classic Italian favorites like pizza, pasta, seafood dishes, and more – all prepared using traditional cooking techniques from Italy.

Abatino’s has a long rich history that is as much about its delicious cuisine as it is about its founder and her entrepreneurial spirit.
